Who Says Customer Service is dead? Its Rockin'!

In August, I mentioned that we recently switched laundry soap.  This change was driven initially by cost. Our old laundry soap brand "C" cost $.20/load and the laundry soap we switched too Rockin' Green, cost $.13/load.

Now saving money is always a good thing.  Saving money on a product that works is even better, IMO!  However, the icing on the cake of savings is the customer service Rockin' Green provides its customers. I haven't received customer service like what Rockin' Green served up for me since I left Japan back in 1999!  Kim and her staff worked tirelessly to help me figure out the right Rockin' Green for washing my diapers and keeping my kids bums baby butt soft!

How did Rockin' Green do this?  Well, first things first.  Rockin' Green comes in three formulas: Soft Rock, Classic Rock, and Hard Rock.  Each is designed for a specific type of water.  So if you have soft water or have really sensitive skin Soft Rock is for you. If you have regular city water or moderate hard water Classic Rock is your formula.  And if you have hard water Hard Rock is for you.  Rockin' Green Classic and Hard Rock also come in scents that make doing laundry "scent"sational! Rockin' Green even has a water hardness map on their site to help you figure out what type of water you have so you can buy the right formula!  Here's the map they've got on their website - very helpful!

So, How did Kim and the Rockin' Green team win my unbridled loyalty?  When we switched from brand "C" I followed the directions for Rocking a Soak  with Classic Rock Bare Naked Babies (no scent) to strip my diapers and washed out the ickies, and the stinkies left behind by brand "C".  The Journey with Rockin' Green began with a bang!  Within the first two diaper changes the girl ended up with a horrendous rash, the boy on the other hand had no problems.  So, into 'sposies the girl went, and I contacted Kim via email for help.  She gave me some tips and pointers and I began again.  I tried everything Kim recommended - and initially I wasn't successful.

Finally I stripped all of the girl's diapers with dawn and lots of HOT Water. And Kim sent me some Soft Rock. Low and behold Soft Rock was the key for my little girl's sensitive bottom.  Kim and the Rockin' Green team are now replacing my bags of Classic Rock Bare Naked Babies for Soft Rock.  Through this entire process, which took me about 6 weeks to figure out, Kim responded quickly to my emails offered suggestions, and provided me loads of samples to try to figure out what formula would work for me.

It so nice to see a company that is concerned about their customers, as well as make a quality product, while making money at the same time.

I'm going to give away one Rockin' Bundle of Rockin' Green because I had such a great experience with Kim and the Rockin' Green team and because the product is amazing - it got out gentian violet. Since I just have to share this product, I'll be sponsoring this give away.  I haven't asked Kim or the Rockin' Green for product to give away, nor has Rockin' Green asked for this review.  This is me sharing a great product with others.  Since I'm a working mom, and don't have oodles of time here's what you need to do to enter: follow my blog via google friends and post a comment at the bottom of the post stating why you love Rockin' Green!  I'll be using a random generator to pick the winner.  The contest will be open until 1 October - so share with all your friends! I'll pick the winner on Saturday 2 October!

  2. Welcome to Rockin Green ... it truely is an amazing product.
I am expecting number 2 any day now (officially overdue now) and when I was preparing all the newborn infant clothing and blankets from my first (who is just 2.5) I decided to do a few soaks on everything. I took all the CLEAN sleepers and undershirts and threw them into the tub with the RnGsoap and let them soak for about 12 hours ... all I can say is YUCK! The water was brown/black. It looked like my 2.5 year old was outside playing in the mud and I threw him in the tub clothing and all.
That was when I decided to start washing ALL my clothing with RnG ...

  3. I love Rockin Green because of the way it gets everything clean in my wash, it leaves my dighties scentless after washing and sparkly clean.
I have only used a few of their testers, but they smell soo yummy I have looked into a 60min away retailer for details on how I can get the bigger bags to give a try. I figured it would save money on shipping a big bag, but i would end up spending more on fuel, so shipping it is :D

  5. I'm finishing up my first bag of RnG (*tear*) and I have really liked it. It's crazy how much gunk you can get out of "clean" items by rocking a soak overnight. I wouldn't feel comfortable buying used cloth dipes if it weren't for RnG! Even after stripping them, I rock a soak and gets lots of ickies out. I feel like I'm putting a truly CLEAN diaper on my kiddo after that.

  6. I agree about their customer service, too. They go above and beyond what most companies will do for their customers. I absolutely LOVE Rockin Green! I had been using another cloth diaper detergent and my diapers had horrible stinkies and my little guy pretty much kept a diaper rash all the time. I read in a forum some great reviews about Rockin Green and decided to try it. I got a few samples, rocked a couple soaks (my "clean" diapers were so GROSS!) and I've been hooked ever since! I now use Rockin Green for all our laundry. My son hasn't had a diaper rash since switching to Rockin Green and his eczema has even cleared up, too!

  7. I love that it comes in three formulas! I did SO much reading on CD wash routines before my son was born and everything I read said hard water requires adjusting your wash routine but it didn't say how! My first detergent was Nellie's but then I got worried about my hard water so I bought some Calgon to put with it but with my RnG I just scoop and go! Love it!

  8. I would love to receive Rockin' Green!!! We cloth-diaper our little dewdrop Josh and are moving to a house with a whole-house water softener and septic system, so I think this brand will work very well for us and I love that it is "green"-- just need to figure out which formula will work best for us depending on the water softener settings. I also plan to get the sprayer & pail system you recommended a while back! -Kri

  9. I follow your blog! I love Rockin' Green because it just gets all of our laundry (including our cloth diapers) so clean. Plus we like the scents, though we do use bare naked babies for the dipes!

  12. Love love love Rockin' Green! It saved my son's diapers. I've also had fun rockin' soaks on other items around the house (hubby's clothes, towels, duvet cover, throw rugs, dog collar) and want to gag and smile at the same time when I see the crud that it pulls out. I love the scents, too, and I agree with you - customer service is AMAZING! I'm following your blog, too.

  14. We use Rockin' Green on all of our clothes because it gets everything super clean! It gets out all sorts of stains that leading detergents don't get out, not to mention it works great on my husbands work/pt gear and our diapers!

  15. I LOVE rockin green! We cloth diaper and switched to it a few months ago due to leaking issues and smell issues... and both have disappeared! In fact, my diapers haven't looked cleaner in ages! The other thing I love about Rockin Green is you can buy samples!! I loved being able to buy a small amount to try before committing to a HUGE bag of the stuff!

I am also now following your blog. =)

I've been doing cloth since my little guy was about 3 months, so about 6 months, and we love it. But we're having some stink issues, and would love to try Rockin Green and see if that helps over our current CD safe soap!
